Our mindset can greatly determine and impact what we do and the way we think about things. Sometimes, our thoughts can overwhelm us; It feels as if we must submit to what our mind tells us. During this time, it can be easy to have fear-filled thoughts which cause to feel hopeless and think negatively about the situation we are facing.
Regardless of how hard we try, it can seem as if our thoughts manage us instead of us controlling them. We have to find a way to gain control over our thoughts because they inevitably determine what we say and do. In the Bible, we can find guidance on how to gain control over our thoughts and think about things which are pleasing to God and glorify Him.
‘We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.’ 2 Corinthians 10:5
‘Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable-if anything is excellent or praiseworthy-think about such things.’ Philippians 4:8
