Comfort Zone

As believers, we are called to shine and reflect Jesus in the way we make decisions and live our lives. This means that we are meant to stand out in faith, share the gospel and shine for Christ. God wants us to step out of our comfort zone.

The problem with sitting cosily in our comfort zone is that even though we desire to carry out what God has called us to do, as soon as we hear that it comes at a cost, we move further and further back into what we feel ‘safe’ in. As a result, we distance ourselves from God’s call and plan for our lives.

A good example of a prominent figure in the Bible who stepped out of his comfort zone is Moses. Initially, Moses was filled with doubt and fear about His calling, and even asked God if He could send someone else who could step up to the challenge. By stepping out of his comfort zone and walking in faith, Moses became a salient leader who led the Israelites into the Promised Land and out of captivity. He also informed Pharaoh of the Ten Plagues of God’s judgement upon Egypt and went up Mount Sinai to collect the Ten Commandments.

As followers of Christ, we should create ways to step out of our comfort zone and reach out to those who needs words of encouragement or a helping hand in getting to know Christ and how they can form a relationship with Him.
